Gardens & Houses
Pencarrow House - Built in 1771 the 50 room Georgian mansion has supberb collection of antique furniture, paintings and porcalian. Signposted off A389 Wadebridge to Bodnin road.
Lanhydrock House – A National Trust property with stunning gardens containing magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias. Located to the north of Bodmin.
Lost Gardens of Heligan - In 1991 work started on restoring them to their former glory and the dramatic results can be admired today. The gardens are south of St. Austell just off the B3273.
Walking & Biking
Saints Way to Padstow – Follow the footpath along the creek and into Padstow and after suitable refreshment, return along Camel Trail and on to the opposite bank of the creek back to the Old Mill.
Camel Trail - Bike on the traffic free Camel Trail which starts in Padstow and runs to Camelford a total of 17.5 miles. Bikes can be hired in Padstow or Wadebridge
OTHER SUGGESTIONS
Camel Valley Vineyard – is situated on the sunny slopes above the River Camel between Wadebridge and Bodmin. Take a tour of the vineyard and sample its excellent produce.
Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway – Cornwall’s only standard guage railway still operated by steam. Trains start at Bodmin Parkway through Bodmin General to Boscarne Junction.
Screech Owl Sanctuary – a rescue centre for sick and injured owls; it is situated near Indian Queens just off the A30 from Bodmin
